The autonomous region of Gagauzia is in the south of Moldvoa, whose capital is the city of Comrat. This region is habited by the Gagauzians, an ethnic minority that
descend from the seleucid Turks and that began to populate this region around 1760. Here begins the geopolitical game that is present throughout Moldova. This
region obtains funding from Turkey, Russia, since its governor is in favor to strengthen ties with Putin, and from the European Union that wants to see its
presence in this country grow since it would be a strategic point where to place bases of theNATO. In Moldova the flag of the European Union is in every official building. In Gagauzia there is no EU flag, which would be paradoxical to see next to the statues of Lenin that they are still present in different corners of the city.

Gagauzia is an autonomous region of  the Republic of Moldova. The Gagauz people descend from the Seljuq Turks who settled in Dobruja. This Oghuz Turk clan converted from Islam to Orthodox Christianism after settling in medieval Bulgaria and were called Gagauz Turks. The capital of the region is the city of Comrat.
